The tool post body is made from chromium-molybdenum alloy steel, thru hardened, surface treated and xylan coated for protection and durability in machining environments. Precisely machined and ground with the most advanced technology and precision. The patented locking gear and gibs are made from chromium molybdenum alloy steel. The core thru hardness is 40-44 Rc and the surface is Ion-Nitrided to a hardeness 60-64Rc to ensure a long working life and rust resistance under harsh working conditions. The locking handle will lock within 45 degree of travel and its position can be adjusted in 15 degree increments. An anti-rotation system is built into the tool post with anti-rotation pins, which are engaged with a "T" Nut or compound to provide maximum rigidity and stability when performing drilling, boring and heavy roughing operations. The triple action wedge-locking system is a powerful combination of a downward, outward and inward force simultaneously locking the holder. Multi-position locking handle adjustment. Super precision toolholder locking. Repeatability within millionths. Thousands of pounds of locking force with a finger tip. Applicable for CNC toolroom lathes, manual toolroom lathes, engine lathes, heavy duty oil-country lathes, super precision high speed, tight tolerances and excellent, finish requiring applications, deep drilling and boring, heavy material removal, multi turning, drilling, boring, threading applications.
